Since the start of my career in 2000, I’ve been supporting families from diverse backgrounds and dynamics in homes, schools and their communities. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), former teacher, and School District Behavior Specialist, I’ve worked closely with families to create comprehensive supports for children of all ages and abilities.
In homes, I’ve helped families implement personalized reward systems, visual schedules, morning/evening routines, structure/organization, and playdates.
In communities, I’ve supported parents in addressing their child’s meltdowns, hitting, running away, etc. in every place you can image – busy grocery stores, crowded shopping malls, open parks, and stressful family gatherings.
In schools, I’ve conducted Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), created Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and contributed to IEPs and 504 Plans for children with Autism, ADHD, Emotional Disturbance, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and developmental delays.
Through assisting with numerous clinical assessments and meetings, I discovered something crucial was missing: while children were receiving individualized plans and supports to help them succeed at school, there wasn’t a comprehensive plan to empower parents to support their own child in the place that mattered most – their homes.
And that’s why I started Aligned Families.
My approach is not to tell you what to do, but to equip you with the resources and strategies I’ve gathered over the years from working alongside thousands of dedicated educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, mental health therapists, psychologists, and doctors, enabling you to apply these same techniques with your child in the comfort of your home.

Over 3,000 Families Helped: It has been such an incredible honor and joy to work with over 3,000 families in their homes, schools, and communities over the years. I feel so fortunate to have been welcomed into the lives of so many wonderful people and to have played a role in supporting their growth and development.
Diverse Settings: My work and love for travel has taken me to 26 countries around the world, and experiencing diverse cultures has given me a unique perspective on the range of challenges that families face. Whether it’s environmental, cultural, or otherwise, I’m passionate about finding creative ways to support each family’s unique needs in a way that aligns with their personal beliefs.
Neurodiversity: With a Master’s Degree in Special Education and 24 years of experience working with neurodivergent children and adults, I’ve seen how important it is to view every child as a unique human separate from their diagnosis. I’m passionate about helping children uncover their superpowers and how to use them to strengthen the areas that need a little more support.
School: I’ve had the pleasure of working as a Special Education teacher, Behavior Specialist and Program Coordinator in school districts across Southern California, Washington D.C., Maryland and New Orleans. I’ve collaborated with daycares, Montessori schools, language immersion programs, and private schools, and I’m a big believer in the power of bringing together educators, psychologists, therapists, doctors and parents to create holistic, comprehensive support plans for children.
Individual Education Plans (IEPs), FBAs & BIPs: Much of my work has involved creating Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for neurodivergent children, including those with Autism (Levels 1-3), ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Emotional Disturbance (ED) and more. I approach behavior as a form of communication. Through the Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) process, we can identify the underlying reasons behind challenging behaviors and use that insight to support children in understanding their big emotions and advocating for their needs.
Professional Trainings: As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), I’m qualified to provide supervision and training for BCaBAs, RBTs, school teams, and other professionals. I’m deeply passionate about passing on the teachings of my mentors to other dedicated professionals and would be honored to do so for your team.
Potty Training: Potty training has been a big part of my work since 2000. Although it has its challenges, on the other side of the mess, you’ll find a more empowered, independent and confident child. Over the years, I’ve successfully potty trained thousands of kids of all ages (1 year-19 years) and abilities (autism, ADHD, down syndrome, oppositional defiance disorder, intellectual disabilities). Although there are many potty training methods out there, I’ve found that a gentle, informed and personalized approach leads to the best outcomes for everyone involved.
Yoga/Meditation/Breathwork: Yoga has been a personal passion of mine since I was first introduced to it while in college. In 2012, I had the incredible opportunity to deepen my practice at Arhanta Ashram in India where I spent 30 days immersed in the teachings of Hatha yoga, meditation, and breathwork. I found it so impactful, that I started looking for ways to share the benefits of yoga and mindfulness with kids, which led me to become a Registered Yoga Teacher for Children (RCYT) in 2022. If you’re curious about incorporating yoga, meditation, or breathwork into your family’s Family Alignment Program let me know during our consultation and I’ll make sure to incorporate it into your Family Alignment Plan.
