What It’s About

If you’ve ever found yourself saying the same thing over and over, raising your voice, or feeling like your child just isn’t listening—you’re not alone. Mastering the Art of Communication with Your Child is designed to help you break those frustrating cycles and replace them with tools that actually work.

This class dives into the power of clear, connected, and respectful communication. You’ll learn how to speak so your child is more likely to listen—without needing to yell, repeat yourself, or rely on consequences. We’ll explore how behavior is a form of communication, and how understanding the “why” behind your child’s actions can help you respond in more effective and compassionate ways.

We’ll also look at common communication traps that unintentionally escalate conflict and how to shift toward language that promotes cooperation, connection, and emotional growth. You’ll discover what to say (and what to avoid) in high-stress moments, how to set limits with kindness, and how to model emotional regulation through your words and tone.

This class offers simple phrases and practical strategies you can start using immediately—tools that help reduce power struggles, build trust, and teach important life skills like empathy, self-awareness, and problem-solving. Whether your child is a toddler or school-aged, the techniques covered are adaptable, realistic, and grounded in evidence-based practices.

You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how to communicate with intention, support your child’s emotional development, and create a more peaceful, cooperative home environment.

Hear What Other Parents Have to Say

I recently attended one of Aligned Parenting Services free parenting seminars. The topic was understanding your child's love language. Jen's delivery and approach was really easy to understand and she gave us ideas and tools we could implement at home. It was definitely time well-spent. After the seminar, I better understood my child's love language (which is different from my own!) and started implementing more mommy and me time after school. I immediately noticed a difference in his behavior and listening skills through the afternoons and evenings, just from this tweak in our day and the ideas I got from Jen's seminar. I highly recommend Aligned Parenting Services if you're seeking ongoing behavioral support for you and your child or if you're looking for one-off ideas to make small changes in your home.

Jen is so thorough in her suggestions and gives the psychological explanations to go along with the instructions. She has such simple techniques that every parent can accomplish easily. The flow of the webinar was exceptional. Her examples are realistic and probably ones every parent experiences. I am excited to buy a timer to start using this tool to improve my day. Thank you Jen for a great class!

I attended a free Potty Training class provided by Jennifer. The class was fun and useful. She provides us a step-by-step guide about how to do the Potty Training. She then sent on the documents that she mentioned in her class to us in the following week. I definitely feel more confident about Potty Training now.
